Safety Concerns

Diseased or dying trees and trees within 10 feet of power lines may present significant safety concerns that justify an increase in the cost of removal. Slower, more meticulous work will make a job take longer, resulting in increased labor costs.

Emergency Tree Removal

A scenario that will likely increase the price of the estimate is one where the tree must be removed immediately. A tree that has fallen on power lines, a car, or a house may require immediate attention. While price gauging is generally frowned upon, immediate action may justify a fair and reasonable increase in price.

Municipalities have become more aware that the trees growing within their communities are a resource to be protected. Local ordinances may exist that regulate how and when trees may be pruned or removed. It is possible that removal of a tree will require a permit. Permit fees are relatively inexpensive particularly when compared to fines associated with failing to obtain them.
