Boat Repair Work Order Details
A work order for a boat or yacht will allow the customer or worker to describe the problem or service that is needed. In most cases, a boat owner will call a marine repair company when needing service. Common work order requests include servicing the following:
- Engine
- Diagnostics
- Rigging (mainly for sailboats)
- Electronics
- Maintenance
- Pre-purchase inspections
- Fuel tank cleaning
Often times, most issues are related to the boat’s engine that needs servicing from a professional. Therefore, a boat repair work order should include a section for the owner to input details about their engine including the Make, Year and Model.
Boat Access
The work order should request details about the boats location and the proper way to access the boat. Boats are either on a mooring (in the water), attached to a dock (in a marina) or stationed on land (dry lot). The boat’s address, slip number, key (combination locks are recommended), boat name and the registration number (for identification purposes as two boats could have the same name) should be included.
