A cash deposit receipt is used to accept and acknowledge a payment received in cash. It can for any item or service and should be described in the receipt.
It’s recommended for the receipt to be signed by the person receiving the money and kept for their records (at least 3 years according to the <a href="https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/how-long-should-i-keep-records" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">IRS</a>).
